ANGLERS LODGE FISHING REPORT SEPTEMBER 2015
Chris here, Anglers Lodge II new skipper. I have lived in Colville for over 25 years and fished it’s surrounding areas for just as long. I’ve previously been a skipper on a mussel barge in Coromandel and thoroughly pleased to pass that up for another life on the water. I’m very passionate about fishing and I hope to provide my knowledge to other keen anglers or help that first time “fisho”.
I look forward to sharing my fishing efforts with you all.
September gave all that spring had to give with strong winds and squalls of heavy rain that deterred most anglers. But those who were brave enough to book a charter in advance experienced surprisingly clam waters with some above average snapper caught.
Mid September was my first official charter for Anglers Lodge. The fish were a bit slow to the bite which is normal for this time of year. Stray lining worked well, and proved to produce some hot days fishing with our limits caught and some larger fish released.
Flasher rigs also worked well in the strong currents baited with squid and pillies. Water temperatures are still down so let’s hope they rise and wind speed goes down.
Hopefully I will have more to report in October with bookings increasing and daylight savings perfect for that evening fish.
Kind regards Chris
